To celebrate the launch of our new shop we are running an exciting competition where the prize is the hamper you created! We are looking for the best hamper, this might be because it makes us laugh, is a unique idea or maybe it's just a delicious selection of products we take a particular fancy to. The Pasty Tax Protest March

Posted on Monday 30th of April 2012

I know, I know, you're probably all well and truly bored of hearing about this Pasty Tax… but I just had to mention what a roaring success the Protest March was! Over 500 people marched through the town of Falmouth on Sunday, in the pouring rain and heavy winds. Some were dressed in traditional Cornish kilts, others in massive pasty costumes, but all with the aim of sending a message to the Government. It really is fantastic to see the people of Cornwall rally together in such a way...Read More

The Pasty Tax protests heat up!

Posted on Sunday 29th of April 2012

Well, it seems like the protest against the Government's proposed ‘Pasty Tax' has been taking some tips from us! Hundreds of Cornish pasties (In fact, enough to feed 650 MPs) were sent from Cornwall to Westminster at an event to show politicians just how damaging the tax will be to Cornwall's economy. We're wondering just how big the hamper would have to be! If you want to get into the spirit of things and show your support for the humble Cornish pasty, send one of our Pasty & Drink...Read More

Join the Pasty Tax Protest March this Saturday!

Posted on Friday 27th of April 2012

We've already mentioned this on our Facebook page, but we think it definitely deserves another one on our blog! This Saturday, the 29th April, a march will be held in Falmouth to protest against the government's proposal of adding 20% tax to all hot food. Of course, this will include the humble Cornish pasty, and the harmful effects of this have already been mentioned in a previous blog. Starting at 2pm on The Moor in Falmouth, the march will then head through the town, finishing at the...Read More

Send a Cornish Hamper for Father’s Day

Posted on Thursday 26th of April 2012

I know it may be a couple of months away yet, but there's no harm in having an early look at what to get your dad for Father's Day. Our Cornish hampers make fantastic gifts for Dad; especially our Pasty & Ale Hampers, or perhaps our Alcoholic Preserve Box. We'll be looking at suitable hampers in much more detail in the near future, as well as putting together specially made Father's Day Hampers. Don't forget that all of our Cornish hampers can be sent anywhere in the UK, and all come...Read More

Help fight the Pasty Tax!

Posted on Tuesday 24th of April 2012

We often visit Cornwall Food & Drink's website, and this morning I saw this article that I just have to share with you all, as it affects the entire Cornish food industry. You may remember my blog from a couple of days ago about how the Government's proposed ‘Pasty Tax' will cause a lot of issues for Cornwall. Well, Cornwall Food & Drink are putting together a response to the government on behalf of the Cornish bakery industry. They are asking for all Cornish bakers and pasty...Read More
