Mead is a traditional alcoholic drink with a rich history, drunk in the great halls and palaces of England and served as a toast for heroes. The Cornish Mead Co. stays faithful to that tradition and history with every bottle of mead that they produce.

The art of making mead was preserved for hundreds of years by the monasteries of England, but after Henry VIII dissolved them, the drinking of mead fell into disuse. Recently, the ancient recipes of the monasteries have been found, and it is these that the Cornish Mead Co. has been using to make their own mead since 1959.

The mead itself is primarily made from honey, which gives it a sweet taste.
